TBM 930 Autopilot

Recommended Posts

Having entered the frequency, what conditions must exist in order to execute a self vectored, coupled, front course ILS approach. I understand that the a/c must be positioned below the g/p however is there a defined (maximum/minimum) intersecting angle that will ensure a localizer capture? Have watched a few videos on the topic but haven't seen one that addressed my query. Would be grateful if someone could help.

If your approach is activated, the aircraft will follow the transitions to the final approach.

You need to be at the intercept at the correct altitude. The autopilot should align you as needed.

If your just trying to intercept a location without autopilot I believe you need to intersect at about 45 degrees or less.. Some expert can correct me if I'm wrong. I only let the FMS do the approach.
