Why most avatar pilots are blacks or dark skinned, one oriental couple and look like rough? (Out of a fighting game, poorly shaven)

Why arent there no middle aged pilots or senior captains with grey or white hair (ageism?)

Why there no blondes, balds?

In all...why dont they put avatars that look more like real people? Is that a technological difficulty?

In trying to be political correct MS has put up a poorly representative group of real aviation pilots

Hope to see more plurality in future patches

The omission of generally white people is flat-out r*cist. Someone in FS management must have chosen to omit white people. As for myself, I am at least of four different racial groups, and I fully appreciate your concern.

Is there a place to make suggestions for FS? I was at least hoping to find some plug-in for a real diversity of avatars.

Also, I thought it would be fun to select some goofy character avatars, such as dogs, martians, sci-fi characters, etc. I would love to have my yellow Labrador Retriever sitting in the plane with me.

Its the scare out of all this blacklivesmatter thing, companies are scared of being accused of non-political correct or favoring oppression. Which in turn creates racism because this MS attitude that is bluntly unrealistic shows it was done out of pity, "yeah we know its not a real representation but lets say we are all for equality by showing more of one side at least in the game" pathetic Edited by Kapitan

I agree, and wish Asobo would make an option to create your own avatar! I saw a YouTube video a while ago where somebody created their own avatar.

Kapitan, I agree with you. I have asked and asked around on various forums, but I haven't found any clear explanations. The toxic Critical Race Theory appears to blame everything on white males. That is, facts don't matter when neo-Marxist ideology wants to impose itself on society. Has Microsoft adopted such a racist neo-Marxist policies? Their actions speak seem to confirm that.

Racism, age bias, and sexism (on the part of Microsoft's decisions) aside, I would be happy with add-on avatars, including some goofy-looking science fiction characters. Also, I wouldn't mind have my Labrador Retriever as an avatar as a passenger or co-pilot seat.

How did a post wanting / requesting more avatar options become one of racism, ageism, sexism, or any other "ism"? Edited by Timberleaf

This is an unfortunate truth of racism - it always causes more racism until you have a vicious circle. The vast majority of MSFS users will be white men, for certain, but even if they weren't - and for argument's sake we'll say all sim flyers are equally represented by all groups - deliberately erasing all white avatars out of the flight sim is still a racist thing to do. The people working at Microsoft know what they're doing. They didn't accidentally forget to include any white male avatars. They sat around and said "We should exclude white male avatars from this simulator as part of the hard left agenda to exclude that group from society, just as they do in the movies and commercials."

That is why the debate went from I'd like a white avatar to talk of racism - because the decision to cut white avatars was a racist one and it invited the response it was looking for. In my view, politics should play NO PART in entertainment.

I'm half way round a tour which includes UK, France, Spain and Morocco.

Whenever I land at an airport I'm always marshalled in by the same guy..................!!! :)

(Oh and by the way he's a very dark-skinned individual with RayBan sunglasses - his mate on the pushback truck is a male white Caucasian, also with RayBans, so no racialism there!)

What if I want to fly out of California and want to be a hot blonde female... Or my flight originates out of Italy and I want my avatar to be an older Italian male.. Or maybe out of... you get the point, GIVE US VARIETY! We all desire different things.

I agree that there should be a lot more diversity in the sim

but it doesn't feel too good being left outta does it?

Welcome to our world white people!

I'm sure Microsoft will fix the problem in due time

especially after seeing this gripe session.

I find this statement very offensive,

We are not gang members because we have dark skin

but I'm hoping this is just sarcasm!

The sim must depict reality

This is not a race gender correctional software

Let the race discussion run elswehere. All races are welcomed, i dont care

I just want a bit of reality.

If you fly to Beijing airport, you wont see race diversity there, all airport personnel are asian chinese.

So diversity is not a MUST, it depends on reality, location. The sim should concentrate in depicting REALITY not how it SHOULD be

So the right thing to do for crew, take airline for example is as follows

Send a photographer to a main US airport *example Atlanta, and another to a european airport (Paris Charles de Gaulle)

ask this photographer to take pictures of crews as much as he can walking arriving and departing the building

Back at the office separate those photos by race and count them. Then poportional to this figure depict the pilots in the sim

Thats the right way of doing it

The rest is ONU fem hollywood or ongs talk

Ironically, my reaction to the whiners complaining that Flight Simulator is racist because the copilot avatars aren't white enough--who include people who pontificate about "political correctness"--was censored from this forum, along with similar reactions from several other users.

Hilarious. Please do me a favor: send me a copy of your official complaint to Microsoft about this. I would looooove to read it. :D

It's fascinating but predictable that the actually-racist comments on this thread have all been permitted to stay, while the numerous comments criticizing them have been censored. Glad yours survived for whatever reason. I agree with you of course. This thread is ridiculous, and as I said before, revolting.
