Nice shots of a plane that's not easy to handle! And based on what I see here, you're probably a little tail heavy as well. Having said that, you possibly are showing a classic stall three point landing! With just screen shots, it's hard to tell for sure!

Tail-draggers are a totally different world which IMHO too few pilots really take the time to learn!!!! It's not just CG, it's also really knowing true actual angle of attack and understanding their aircraft's weight and balance!!

To me a tricycle gear aircraft is a terrible alternative for GA pilots who never choose to learn good flying, taxing, and landing skills.

When I was flying RW I thought it would be great to learn and fly a tail dragger. Never got the chance.

Very nice aircraft David, and that P-40 can be a hot little airplane!

Enjoy! Rick

Thanks Rick! I could have had her wide open if I wanted.

A fine bit of work here David. Pappy Boyington would be proud. He started out in P-40s before advancing to the F4U Corsair. He made them both memorable.  :pilot:

Thanks Larry! I didn’t know that about Pappy.

When I was flying RW I thought it would be great to learn and fly a tail dragger. Never got the chance.

That's a shame! Even learning how to do the rudder dance is quite an art and quite a challenge! I've several friends who started out with a Cessna or similar, then discovered a whole new world flying a Tail-dragger!

If you're able and you go to an airshow or similar event, try to find a tail-dragger pilot giving barn-storming rides! I'd think you'd truly love a trip up with him/her! I find it truly thrilling every time I get the chance! ;)

Actually there's a guy who flies a WACO out of LOU near me. I've gone over and gotten my Tail-dragger fix and taken aerial photos from his plane more than once or twice. Lucky for me, my home is right on the edge of our local designated practice area. So I like to call my neighbors on the phone while midair, then take shots of them when they come outside their home. ;);)

Wind in the face is much more intense than on most motorcycle rides!! ;)

At Willow Run airport, the Yankee Air Museum had a WACO you could buy a ride. It’s no longer listed on their website. I don’t know what happened to it.

Probably delayed due to the virus! To be honest I haven't checked lately to see if our guy is flying now either!:eek:

Another guy has a Stearman but I've never met him. He's probably not taking hire flights right now either.
