Im currently between I7 and I9 will look at a ryzen if necessary. and have a budget at max £1800. looking to make sure i can enjoy fs2020 to the max. Does anyone have any recommendations. I wont touch Alienware. (Dell). their rep has crumbled on the last 12 months. but it needs to be quiet as possible, and beefy enough to run fs2020 at lovely smooth FPS. my curent noisy old beast will run fsx at 50 fps comfortably.. I want to future proof as much as possible. Reason im asking is i have a couple of interesting looking desktops. but want to see if anyone else says the same. psycosteve Posted June 8, 2020 Share Posted June 8, 2020 Depending on what you have to begin with that can be taken over to the new PC can cut some cost from your build to use in other areas. Also knowing what to buy and when can trim some money off your budget. The case, the peripherals (keyboard, mouse, and other input devices), and possibly the CPU along with the gaming monitors are some of the items you will not have to buy when building a new PC. Doing the quick math that is around 2300 USD which can get you a really powerful rig. For a Ryzen build figure $200 for a Motherboard $700 for a 2080 super GPU 400 for 64GB of 3600mhz ram about 100 for a 1tb M2 SSD and about 500 for a Ryzen CPU. This will leave you with about $400 USD left over for a Power supply or a new gaming monitor. With the right monitor or VR setup, you will be running 144mhz at 4K no problem. plainsman Posted August 1, 2020 Share Posted August 1, 2020 (edited) If you are still looking for a system builder, I have used AVA Direct on the last three rigs and I have always been very impressed with the build, the choice of components, and the pricing. The selection is so vast, you will need to do a bit of research to determine just what you need. For example, do you need a Z490 board or will a less expandable board work? The new I7-10700K chips are pricey and a RTX 2080 is pricey and takes a lot of space. You will need components of that nature to really exploit FS2020. BTW, I advise to stay away from units at the big box stores or Best Buy. Those usually have shortcuts that limit build quality and they are often 6 months to a year behind in technology. Its totally over the top just for FS 2020 and does not have a graphics card yet, but it includes a keyboard, TWO SSD's, RGB components and case, so you could easily shave at least £150 of the cost which currently £1482.03. This PC will be easily capable of running FS 2020 at high settings and probably any game you can mention at reasonable high frame rates, even at 1440p. Your £1800 will build an absolute monster if you are prepared to build a PC yourself.
