Main menu--options--general settings--show menu bar.

 

Isn't the menu bar the one that goes across the top of the screen? Pressing and hold the alt key down?

 

Maybe with the top menu bar showing and then pressing flights in the left corner??

He must of steped on F11 (full screen). Press F11 again to get back the menu bar.
