Another fantastic flight and narrative! :pilot: All that happening in the summer of 1962. I was just a few months old! Thanks for bringing that history alive. I so enjoy these.

I was born in Rotterdam as you know and I remember the airport in the 60's and 70's very well. Spent many hours there. There were lots of scheduled flights to the UK those days and I saw all the the long forgotten companies. So good to see them in your Retro flights again. Also good to see Speke in your sim.:cool::cool:

I made my first flight on a DC-3 in 1961 just out of high school. :)

Hey, Top Gun,

Nice flight...brings back memories.

I graduated High School in 1959 (so we're both "old farts") with my Private Pilot License in my pocket. Got my Commercial, etc. a few years later and managed a copilot flight in a DC-3 in 1963; I even got a couple of hours stick time, but no takeoff or landing :(. Wound up with a full 47-year professional career, including 5K hours helicopter. What a life. :pilot:
