Thread: AP disengagement

  1. Default AP disengagement

What causes the plane to sharply climb when disengaging the AP? What can I do to correct it?

    Hi P,

Autopilot will do what it needs to do with elevator trim and engine thrust to keep the aircraft aloft. Perhaps when you disconnect AP, the AP configuration is slightly different to handflying.
If you use FSUIPC payware version, there is a setting in the Miscellaneous tab to overcome this.

"Center Elevator on Alt Change" (place a check in this box)
"Discon Elev trim axis for AP" (Try this checked or unchecked, if it works great)

    Hi jethrom,

    Thank you for the info.
