A Dornier Do 17 Passing the Cliffs of Dover, July 1940

Recommended Posts

The German Dornier Do 17, with its typical 'flying pencil' shape, is here seen passing over the cliffs of Dover by late July 1940! The Do 17 was a 'Schnellbomber' ('fast bomber'), used among other usage, during the Battle of England. It's seen flying low to keep its ground track due to low-level clouds

Thanks for the appreciation! Yes, poor Englishmen here under endured much! On the other hand any Spitfire in the neighbourhood would also have done hurt to that Do 17... Edited by flightsimg

Thanks!

lifejogger: thanks for all the exclamation marks :)

jankees: that's a plane by A.F.Scrub at simviation https://simviation.com/1/search?submit=1&keywords=do+17&x=0&y=0 Testing WW2 planes for my collection isn't my primary worry on the other hand. I just have the plane into and make photos

Most of the models, on the other hand, I found until now look about good, especially with some flight behaviour tweaks. That one might look good; it features a 3D panel (adding views necessary, for example). The sound seems slim. They have a improved version of that one, https://flyawaysimulation.com/downloads/files/14349/fsx-dornier-do-17/

With me, generally, in terms of planes, you enter the vast universe of tweaking :)

Thanks Larry.

Yes, the German bombers flew at a medium or high level during the Battle of England, but I made a exception there, pretending that one needed to fly low :pilot:
