Trying to resurrect old CH Force FX using Logitech Extreme 3D parts

The reason why I'm doing this is because I can't seem to find any decent force feedback flightstick on the market. So I got a CH Force FX stick on eBay and found an old Logitech Extreme 3D.

I had a look at the old FrankenForce documentation and it was somewhat daunting to say the least. I don't think I could bear to take apart a CH Fighterstick just to try and get the Force FX to work.

So do you all think I should try and reconnect the CH Force FX wires to the Logitech circuit board? Has anyone done this before?

I've also been reading up and saw that some people have actually gone the Arduino route. I wouldn't mind giving this a go but my programming skills are dismal.

Would appreciate if any of you could point me in the right direction.
