Ever Done Something Stupid?

I did this evening. Completed a ~2500 nm flight, meant to save my position (I always save so next time I fly, I pick up from where I last was.) Instead I hit exit.

*sigh*

Spent way too much time using these sims...

FS 5.1, FS-98, FS-2000, FS-2002, FS-2004, FSX, Flight, FSW, P3Dv3, P3Dv4, MSFS

How can you not know that FSUIPC always saves that ending state as "Previous Flight" if you shut down normally? If you don't use it for anything else, it's worth installing just for that. Surely, you just forgot (FSX being such an ancient, antique program and all...)

Hooked since FS4... now flying:

self-built i7-4790 at 4 GHz; GA-Z97X mobo; GTX 970; 16GB gskill;

quiet, fast and cool running.

Win 7/64: 840 EVO OS; 840 EVO (500G) game drive;

Win10/64: 850 EVO (500G) for OS and games

Yeah, I do the save game thing too. I'm on my 5th or 6th tour around the world and I save with each landing and there have been times where I hit exit and totally forgot to hit ; and save. BUT! I use the FSXSave module and that can help I guess. I have it set to save every 5 minutes and only two saves. Don't really need more than that. It has saved me many times when my Comp has crashed which I have tried finding the issue to no available. It happens very, very infrequently. But always in a game. Doesn't matter which. Done everything, believe me.

Anyway. I found out that after so many saves it seems things will get wonky and then I have to start fresh at that airport again. One thing is that when I shut down the avionics and battery in my F-22 it never turns off. So that means I just have to start fresh again and go from there saving my landings. And this has happened to me just yesterday.

I did something stupid once..... I installed FSX - and I was hooked.

The next stupid thing I did was to become a member here.....

And now I have P3D also.... where will this stupidity end?

Oh it NEVER ends. There's a new Flight Sim coming next..!:pilot:

It's everywhere! I went to my eye Dr and he said my vision was '2020'. (I know it's NOT). I asked my eye Dr: ''Have you, by any chance, been contacted by Microsoft lately?'' He just SMILED, said nothing, and walked out. HA!

Doctor, my eyes have seen the years

And the slow parade of fears without crying

Now I want to understand

I have done all that I could

To see the evil and the good without hiding

You must help me if you can

Doctor, my eyes

Tell me what is wrong

Was I unwise to leave them open for so long...

Never liked the idea. The sim might save settings you're not aware of, and therefore compromise your next flight.

How hard can it be to write down an ICAO, stand number and time-of-day?

Wim

I usually either reload the aircraft or load a different one, so not an issue.

Write down? What is this? Isn't that one of those antiquated terms from before the digital age? (In all honesty, I can scrounge for a pen and paper to scribble things down, or press ;. Obviously that is easier. And sometimes I'll be called away mid-flight, I can just save where I am, even if it isn't at an airfield.)
