We have 40 gallons of fuel on board for the short 17 nm flight. There will be moderate cloud cover above us for the flight. We will be cruising at an altitude of 4,000 feet only briefly.

Dear oh dear, I warned you many times NOT to fly something with a prop mounted on the roof!!  I do remember these SABENA choppers, there was even a regular service to Rotterdam in the Netherlands. There was a Helo terminal near the center of Rotterdam, I'll try to Google a picture. Great flight Larry!!!:cool::cool:

David, when you're retired you have more time to do the research. Also, I spent 6 years in Europe and 3 years in London in the 70s and early 80s, so many of the places I fly are somewhat familiar.

Gerard, It is an actual flight for 1961 according to the Sabena schedule.

Jan, Thanks for the pics of the real thing. It must have been thrilling to see it in person.

Rick, I like flying the retro aircraft with the period scenery. I must have plowed a 40 acre field with the rotor blades before I got the hang of flying that chopper. I may have to invest in a joy stick to see if that makes it easier.
