Hello All

I suppose after seventeen years a user of FS9 I should know this....BUT!

In the settings INTERNATIONAL section of Fs9 (baring in mind I am in the UK), should I accept the US system LATITUDE NORTHEN ,LONGITUDE EASTERN or the METRIC system(altimeter in feet) LATITUDE NORTHEN LONGITUDE EASTERN (or is it Longitude WESTERN for the UK for both options.

Thanks to all

Andy

Hey, Socks!

What have you been using over the past seventeen years and has it been working for you? You can always make the change and see how it affects your Sim.

Thank you Zip.

I think it has been the U .S.system.

The reason iam asking is because I notice that when flying there is a discrepancy between wind speed and direction in my instrumentation and Shift Z, and although that it has probably got nothing to do with using The U.S. system or the metric system ,I always try different possibilities just in case it changes anything.

Anyway Zip you are to the point as usual ....why don't I just change it and see what occurs .

I s the UK in the western hemisphere?

Such ignorance on my part is shameful :)

Cheers Andy

Which hemisphere is the United Kingdom in?

Northern

Positioned in the northern, eastern and western hemispheres, the United Kingdom (or UK) is Europe's largest island. Located off the northwestern coastline of continental Europe, the country is bordered by Ireland, the Atlantic Ocean, Celtic Sea, Irish Sea, North Sea and English Channel.

Seems that the Prime meridian slices the UK in half!

Still thinking about a new flightsim only computer!  ✈️

It does, and that's because we Brits invented it at the Royal Observatory in Greenwich (pronounced Grenitch), London for our own Navy's navigational reference: https://www.rmg.co.uk/discover/explore/prime-meridian-greenwich

In aviation, Zulu Time is what we in the UK refer to as GMT or Greenwich Mean Time, based on the same meridian.
