Just purchased P3D, loading screen vanishes

Hello all,

I've been thinking of making the transition to Prepar3d for some time now, and this evening I decided to get the academic P3D v4.

I installed it, set the .exe to run as admin, opened up the .exe, it ran through the building scenery database, once that was done the Prepar3d Academic screen stays up for a couple of seconds then it all just vanishes. I wait for 2-3 minutes and nothing happens. A couple of more minutes and nothing at all is happening.

In the Windows Task Manager it doesn't even appear in 'Applications', only appears in 'Processes'

It can be any addon's as there isn't any, this is a complete fresh install that I can't even open.

Anyone have any suggestions please?

James.

uninstall and reinstall. Do not install in the default C:\ProgramFiles folder - create a specific folder like x:\P3D4.

See if that helps.

I just tried sit and wait, loaded it at 19:45, and as of now at 20:42 it still hasn't loaded.

Vic - I have it installed to my D:/ drive, to keep my C drive clear of programs. I shall try the uninstall/reinstall, as I loaded the installer from the ZIP file which may not have helped, and didn't run the installer as admin either (both these I've recently stumbled across on various sites)

Thank you,

James.

If you 'loaded the installer from the Zip file' DIRECTLY then this is not right. You need to un-zip (extract files from Zip file) to a temp folder. Once extracted you can dbl-click the installer to start process and will function where as it will not if you don't un-zip. Hope this is the case and if so you need to do un-install to get rid of files it might have installed to prevent problems on your re-install attempt. If not listed in Uninstall Programs then you can do a RESTORE (to yesterday, 3 days ago?) to get rid of any files put on HD by installer. No need to go 'looking' for them. The Restore operation will give you a fresh slate (ie: any file not there yesterday, or 3 days ago, will 'vanish'). Good luck.
