Xplane11 saved route problems

I have managed to successfully insert a route in the FMC of a 737-800 without any "discontinuities" or "vectors" and have saved it in the pilots list. However when I retrieve it from the saved route list Xplane builds the files required then when I get onto the runway, I have to press "P" to take the program off pause setting, the engines are running but the Saitek controls [yoke, pedals and thrust power units] do not respond to commands. Yet when I start a fresh flight all controls operate normally. Is this a bug or am I doing things incorrectly? Herp needed.
