Warsaw Chopin EPWA jetways

From this site (http://www.pl-vacc.org.pl/files/maps/EPWA/EPWA_manual_EN_08_2016.pdf), I found that

“While jet-ways 5-7 and 9-15 are designated for departures to non-Schengen countries, Jet-ways 1-4 and 16-24 are intended for dealing with flight within the Schengen Area.”

I want to fly to Kiev (in a non-Schengen country) but I don’t understand what they meant by this. Can someone please explain?

I think it will have to do with border control and the use of passports in the non-Schengen Areas.

Still thinking about a new flightsim only computer!  ✈️

I get that, but why does the jetway have any relevance to the destination of the aircraft. Isn’t a jetway just a bridge connecting the gate to the aircraft? And I also didn’t understand the numbers next to the jetway e.g 1-4, 5-7 etc.
