Abacus EZ Landmark

Further to your enquiry ... it is possible to download the latest (October 5 2018) US GNIS database (in .txt format) by State at https://geonames.usgs.gov/domestic/download_data.htm

Haven't tried this file... yet, and it will probably throw up duplicate entries in EZ Landmark.

BTW there are extra Misty Moorings EZLandmark files in the MM FS9 Scenery area.

Thanks, I did find the Misty & Glacier Bay EZLandmark files in the MM area.

I have a separate Alaska install of FS2004, with Misty, Tongass Fjords & Glacier Bay, with Lago's Georender scenery as well. I've added those files from Misty Moorings & all works very well.

I just downloaded the NationalFile_20181001.zip as well as the Alaskan file from the above site & I'll give then a try. I'm actually not too sure which is the appropriate file.

Thanks for the advice.

Well, I downloaded the Alaskan file from the above site.

I changed the .txt extention to .data & copied it into my EZ-Landmark folder.

When I loaded the sim, it came up with an error message, indicating the header (first line) of the data file, & after deleting that, & re-starting the sim, it came up with an error message indicating the first airport in the list.

So, I think there is too much data in the file, for each location, & somehow it has to be stripped out to look like the existing files.

It's a comma deliminated file, & I have no idea how I can strip the unwanted stuff out.

Any idea's?

For anyone else who seeks the original file "AbacusEZ-LandmarkGNISDatabases.exe".

On the Tongass Fjords page – http://www.mistymoorings.com/tongass/index.php – on the Misty Moorings site, you'll find a (now dead) link to the file:

http://www.flightsimdownloads.com/pub/AbacusEZ-LandmarkGNISDatabases.exe

Got to Internet Archive and enter this link in the Wayback Machine, and you'll be able to download it. Simple as that.
