I agree on both counts!! I think you can learn a lot by taxiing and landing a tail dragger correctly. IMO, tricycle gear trainers don't make nearly as many demands on stick and rudder flying or teach as many basic control skills as a tail dragger does.

Being an old chopper guy I usually fly low and slow.

A better landing at JFK it seems :pilot: Maybe you'd got some side wind (but I don't know how military planes are correcting for :) )
