I know this might sound silly to some, but how do I update to the new version? It says something about uninstalling the Client, which I see in my Control Panel, but how do I reinstall the Client? Or the other option is to completely uninstall everything and install the latest version? Not sure whats the best way to do it, I don't want to have any duplicate files that could mess something up. Uninstall the previous Client, Install the new Client Delete the temporary files and the temp shaders folder Reboot sim. You do not even have to reinstall your user license! It will only offer you a repair install. One MUST remove the existing Client first, as I said. And then you have the option to not remove the current licence. And then you should remove the temporary files (and if required, folders - although this is not necessary) To complete the installation, the removal of the temporary files is a manual, but necessary, step. It's possible he was answering the OP question on "how do I reinstall the Client?" But I agree it should be clarified that one must uninstall and reinstall for things to work. I uninstalled the client. Downloaded the Install_Client.msi and now seems like I'm updated to 4.3. So is it necessary to install the Install_Content and Install_Scenery? Btw I couldn't find the temp files and temp shaders folders and I didn't delete them either. Is this a must do? Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

If you are looking for the added 130 aircraft, you will need to update Content. Delete the shaders folder in %appdata%/Roaming/LockheedMartin/Prepar3d Version4 - do NOT delete the ShadersHLSL folder in the main P3D directory. Not correct unless you manually delete the Orbx scenery etc. Just run the FTX Central and it will makes the necessary adjustments fairly quickly. Vic Oh!!! Thank You! I did not know this. I knew that ORBX installed stuff outside the ORBX folder and was told on their forums it would need to be reinstalled when upgrading scenery. FTX REQUIRES the use of FTX Central v3 because it incorporates these updates: After one installs the new scenery .msi one runs that before reopening the sim. It reorders and reorgnaises any FTX/ORBX scenery. Job done (with the possible exception of re-running the Unified Migration option) but that's not what our OP needs. The only reason for installing 4.3 scenery is if you are having problems with the very limited problems the `new` scenery. msi offers fixes for.
