Get it at your usual download location.

New features in this version:

- photoreal trees

- various hires textures for even better definition.

Plenty of optimization and tweaks:

- improved colour blending

- lots of autogen improvement

- better fields and swamps

- improved golf courses

- night lighting for roads

- frame rate optimization

and much more.

Sorry, I haven't updated the tweak document yet, and I have forgotten two airport night textures, so will update the fs9_texture.zip on Monday from the office (I have a really terrible upload connection at home).

Enjoy!

Sascha

Very impressive Sascha. Those night lights are amaizng too. Plus I’ve always loved your oceans. My favourite of all!

Only thing is I have a CT’s or two with the summer textures. Seems to be a few anomalies in the textures with naming etc as well. Several are different sizes, etc. Not sure if that’s the issue or not.

It's possible, I put in some hires textures which work with me. But I had CTDs with some more which I left out. I was going to upload replacement normal-res textures over the coming weekend, but I'll see if I can do this on Wednesday. On the other hand the hires textures included in the package should also be for fall and winter. Does the CTD occur in other seasons as well? And in which area and at what stage of the flight does it happen?

I noticed it crashed at Flightzone's Portland during day but only with the summer textures. Also the same at a couple other add-on scenery's / airports.

I'll try and pinpoint a little more where and when it happens.

Tested the Ground Textures on the Lappy...... this is where I Do all the testing before moving anything on the main Sim. I Noticed the CTD In Flight Ontario's Scenery CYKZ Buttonville..If I Remember correctly it does it on Summer in Daylight.

Reverting back to the default Textures Everything went back to normal no CTD.

I think I have identified a potential candidate for this problem. Can one of you check if you have an Evo taxi_bitu.bmp in the fs9/texture folder when the crash does NOT happen?

Hello Sascha, I did some monitoring of the last file being read by FS9 Just before the crash and found the crash occurs while the summer texture 127b2su.bmp is being read ..details below. Last read file was 127b2su1.bmp

123.png

PS: Perhaps the culprit lies within the summer textures, hope this helps.

Thank you, this is very helpful! I'm just uploading a replacement texture into the dropbox EVO2018 directory. Could you please see if this solves the issue? If the CTD persists, could you replace just the 127b2su1.bmp with the default?

Ok, I've just downloaded that Texture file and replaced it, unfortunately the crash still occurs, it seems to be crashing at exactly 54%, I've also tried it with the default texture for that specific file to no Avail. I Will continue to observe here as well once I Get back to see what I Can find.

I have forgotten to mention this is crashing @ Buttonville CYKZ

Hi Sascha / Abel

I just DXT1'd all the high res textures and I had no issues. Perhaps it was the format of the bmp files you used? For some read the 16 bit must've clashed with - I'm guessing - some scenery bgl files somewhere at payware airports.

Visualy I'm not sure you'd notice the difference anyway.

Thanks for that find JSMR I will do the same on my end and see if it fixes the problem here.

Going by what JSMR Mentioned above, I Didn't actually convert but I had replaced just the following files from Evo package listed below with the default ones I've backed up and I'm no longer getting the CTD. There are a total of 134 Summer files listed.

I have listed the files Below, I used Anti Twin to compare the files with just the large ones, out of 180 large files with the same names Anti Twin only found 134.

I then replaced just the 134 files listed below with the default ones and everything seems to be working.

Comparing the sizes with the ones I have backed up from the FS9 Installed on the Laptop you can see on the far right the size differences.

SO when you mean the default you've backed up, do you mean the previous EVO package?

Negative, Default as in the the ones I Had last in the Sim Not related to Evo.

Also is 037bwa1 missing from the 2018 EVO water texture list or did I somehow delete it?

[037B2WA1.bmp] is not in the [Evo 2018 Package] from what I'm seeing. But it is in my Scenery world Texture. I believe it just overwrites the necessary files that are intended as part of the Evo Package The rest are Default.

Ok, so the problem is actually with the hires textures. I'll upload a set of Dxt1 textures asap, thank you both for troubleshooting. I had several CTDs when experimenting with the hires and pared them down until no more CTDs occured on my setup. It seems that some add-ons include default textures but locked to a certain format in the bgl compilation.

Visually there is a difference when viewing from a distance, crisper and more detailed, which is why I included them.

Thank you, I never thought of the obvious: use hires textures and convert them to DXT1! Duh!

I guess not, there are all sorts of format restraints and dxt1 is the default format so the safest choice.

Found a way to get hires textures batched to DXT1 with Imagetool. FS9 tested with full hires textures and works! I have uploaded a separate set to the dropbox and updated the original set to be all standard resolution, so two distinct options available.
