    Default Flying a seaplane.

I recently downloaded a true seaplane, what I mean is it isn't an amphibian with wheels.
IN FSX I can use a seaplane by selecting an airfield close to a lake of estuary, go on map view and slew it on to the water then fly from there.
In XP I can do the same but when I do the plane crashes and I can't fly it, I'm reverted to start the flight again, so how can I fly it from the water?
I know there are a few sea bases but I don't want to fly from there.

Sorted it, I used the same method as I do in FSX, I forgot I could click on the aircraft icon on the map, I changed the altitude then placed it on the water, also changed it direction as well.
