Help! - How do you add a VC to a plane that doesn't have one

Hello,

Sometimes it is difficult to find good freeware options that include both the aircraft and the VC. I want to download the A350 Delta, but the only legit good one I find is CamSim. CamSim doesnt offer VC to their aircrafts, though. Is it possible that I can put the default a321 VC into the CamSim file? Can someone walk me through the steps?

Thanks.

I can take you through step 1. The rest would take too far for a short post, though it isn't too difficult to do.

I could google a guide for you, but if you type:

cockpit merge fsx

into google,

you should find several easy step by step guides.

Step 1 is:

open the aircraft's folder

open it's folder named:

model

in there will be a file:

aircraftsname.mdl

to keep it safe, leave it in that folder. Copy it to the desktop.

On the desktop, open the file by:

right clicking it and selecting: open with notepad.

Somewhere near the start you will either see:

MDL8MDLH

or

MDLXMDLH

if you see MDL8MDLH it is cm fs9 model. You can not add a vc to those. Fs9 models are a single file with model and vc in one. If the designer did not create a vc, it can not be added.

If it says MDLXMDLH it is an fsx model. In fsx outside model and vc are separate files. So you can add a vc and have it show. A merge.

Have fun

il.

(The reason for doing this with a copy is that if you accidentally save with notepad, even if you had made no changes, the file gets messed up.)
