Hi all

I am new to the flight sim world and don't know where to start.

E.g

1 do I need to buy a new computer

2 what flight sim to buy

3 how to set it all up

Any advice you can give will be fully apricated

I loved learning to fly, then couldn't continue due to medical reasons.

I didn't know this was available

Thanks

Chris

Welcome aboard! :D (Hey, folks, we've hooked another one ;)). Let's see if I can answer any of your questions.

Now I am assuming you have no flight sim as of now?

1. New computer? Depends on what you have now. FSX and anything newer like P3D, X-plane, etc will require a heavy duty CPU in the 4+ GHZ range. That's if you want the best performance and massive eye candy.

2. Flight Sim? Your choice. FSX use to have a free demo version. Don't know if that is still available. X-plane has a demo version. P3D doesn't and it ain't cheap!

3. How to set it up? Older versions of FSX and FS2004 use DVD's to do the install. FSX-SE is a download through Steam. I think X-plane is also a download and executable.

Let us know what you decide and we can help.

Still thinking about a new flightsim only computer!  ✈️

After reading articles on here I need a new computer.

Airline flying I interested in

Never used a sim

What is flight sim x steam like?

Steamy it's like. Cheap at times, $5.00, sometimes on sale.

Exactly the same as FSX NON-Steam - it's the delivery method that changed, not the sim.

If you're buying FSX now it WILL be the Steam version as its the only one available. But you might want to wait until one of the regular and frequent sales.
