INF File is not compiling... Seeking Assistance

Hi All,

I've read through some forum threads in regards to people having issues compiling the INF file when creating photo real scenery, however, I struggle to get a definitive answer. While this isn't the first time I have compiled an INF file, I have changed PCs since and lost my old files. :(

I've got multiple sources that need compiling, 7 to be exact, and I have followed as many tutorials as possible step by step, but I just can't get it to work.

So, if anyone could review my file, I would really appreciate that! Please also see my prt screen link to prove that all file names are correct.

Thank you all in advance!

Ryan

Hi Guys

Can anyone see if there any issues in the INF?

Read everywhere on constructing an INF file but doesn't want to compile.

Removed the seasonal sources. Down to 4 sources now. Used the example from the P3D SDK Resample examples and still doesn't work!

Is it possible that the error may lay in the BMPs and tifs files themselves? Because this is starting to get ridiculous.

I used the "multichannel_multisource.inf" example from SDK.

Please! Someone tell me what I am doing wrong

First, know I newer did this and know nothing about it.

I would use only .bmp files. That tends to help when creating stuff.

I am willing to drop your .inf file on a compiler. But would that compile even without sources?

I could create sources. I'm thinking simple square bitmaps, one green, one black and white. But i would need at least the height and width of your images.

Come to think of that, should those images be the same exact size? (h and w).

Is that perhaps what is wrong in yours? Not the same size?

And what is the compiler used for this? I have the fsx sdk. And have compiled things. But never an inf file.

Usually i compiled .xml files to .bgl files.

Please give the name of the compiler, I don't want to read an entire guide.

I assume you need to put all files in one folder and drop the inf on the compiler. If not, explain please.

Thank you for your reply and taking the time to help me mate.

Little confusion with "compiling" and "compiler", I should have been more clear in my point. The INF file, when dropping on top of the resample.exe is not compiling. Ill just outline what I have done so far:

- Compile the image taken from SBX. Checked

- Then I create a winter/spring/autumn/summer/night/day/blendmask/watermask variation to the BMP. Checked

- I then need to compile all those "sources" into the INF file so I can resample a BGL file. Checked (but apparently there is an issue in the text.)

- I then drop the INF file (with all the sources outlined in the INF) over the resample.exe and all I get is a flash from the cmd window. = BGL not compiling. Error occured.

Since my first post, I have tried another airport to test whether I just going insane or not lol. And again, same error occurs.

Here is my second example of what I have tried.

[source]

Type = BMP

Layer = Imagery

SourceDir = "SourceData"

SourceFile = "variation1.bmp"

ulyMap = -36.0624217151088

ulxMap = 146.944885253906

xDim = 5.36441802976401E-06

yDim = 4.33610042907077E-06

Variation = All

[Destination]

DestDir = "Output"

DestBaseFileName = "Photo01"

DestFileType = BGL

UseSourceDimensions = 1

Now, this is very basic, just for a test, and when placing the INF over the resample.exe tool I still get the cmd window flash! I really dont know what I am doing wrong!

Any replies, ideas, feedback is really appreciated!

Cheers

For future reference, if you run resample.exe from the command prompt (instead of drag and drop) you should see the output and any errors that may occur.

I know it works with BGLComp.exe, honestly, have never tried it with resample yet it should work.
