We have 750 imperial gallons of fuel on board for the 278 nm flight of about one hour and thirty five minutes. Moderate cloud cover is reported and we will be cruising at an altitude of 15,000 feet. Passengers boarded, engines started and we are ready to depart Bordeaux Merignac. 2. We have taxied out to runway 29 and are holding for a small Cessna to takeoff. 3. The Cessna is off and we are next. 4. Takeoff and packing up the gear. 5. Turning on course for Paris. 6. 6,000 feet below we see the Gironde estuary formed by the meeting of the Dordogne and Garonne rivers near Bordeaux. 7. Climbing through 8,500 feet and we have a smooth ride so far. 8. Now at 13,000 feet as the colorful dawn sky begins to fade. 9. At 15,000 feet we are passing Cognac airport and the Charente River near the city of Cognac. 10. Obscured by clouds we are near Châtellerault known in early times for sword making and later as a manufacturing center of small arms for the French Army and Navy. 11. About 20 nm from the southeast outskirts of Paris we begin our initial descent and make a course change. 14. Down to 4,000 feet we see the River Seine and the airport at Brétigny-sur-Orge off to our left just above and ahead of our tail. 15. Paris Orly off our left wing. 16. We turn toward Le Bourget in the distance. 17. After being vectored around Le Bourget we make a turn to intercept our approach to runway 7. That is Paris Orly off our right wingtip in the distance. 18. Gear down and flaps 40 we are lining up our approach. 19. On line for short final. 20. Touchdown. 21.
