PSA: Another day, another major security flaw

This time the flaw is in CPUs from Intel, and possibly other manufacturers. Although AMD seems to be in the clear so far. While patches are coming, or have already been released, for all major operating systems, these patches come at the cost of CPU performance. In many cases, especially on single user systems like most on this forum are using, the penalty is small. On servers it may be as high as 30%. No idea yet on whether flight sims will be heavily impacted or not.
