Prepar3D V4 freezing every couple seconds after 5 Hours of flying

Hello, I was attempting my first long haul flight to Shanghai from Sydney. I went to sleep after we passed 10,000 feet and in the morning I came back to the sim freezing/not responding then coming back for 10 seconds then freezing again and it keeps repeating that. My computer wasn't overheating and nothing was maxing out. I saved the scene and ALT-F4 p3d and then started it again then it worked fine. But it freezes on very long flights for some reason. Any help is really appreciated.
