Ifly 747-400 freeware. Commands like "Spoiler--Arm" not available. Anyone know why?

Does anyone happen to have an idea why:

e -then 1

does not select the leftmost engine only?

(all throttles still move in unison)

also, shift+/

does not do: "spoiler Arm"

it does: "spoiler Extend", as if the shift wasn't there.

This in the freeware Ifly 747-400.

Filename in Flightsim.com Library: fly74711.zip

---

I first thought: "Runaway gauge". But that ain't it.

because C then 1

selects Com1 just fine. After which I can increase/decrease the setting with + and -.

Keyboard assignments are all set fine as well. That's not it.

Anyone a clue?

How can especially "spoiler Arm" not be available?

I must say I'm parked when doing this. Just finished a flight, and was so tired after that I clean forgot about spoilers untill after stopping at the gate.

(It took four "overfly and go-arounds" at Cairo-Intl until I finally got the FMC, Approach frequencies, and myself lined up for landing. But, finished a full FMC flight from EHAM to Cairo now, reprogramming the FMC several times along the way without losing control. Got the FMC to approach the runway in a straight line, frequencies and course set, and approach mode brought me to a perfect touchdown at 145 knots. Sweet.:) )

I digress:), anyone a clue about the spoiler-arm or engine-select?

Don't get out of the sun for this one!!

Aha! nevermind about the spoiler-Arm command.

I just tried it in flight, and there it does work.

Not sure on the "e then 1" (engine select).

I'll try reloading fsx to see if a reboot makes a difference.

The last flight was a long one as I said, with one or two pc "sleep mode" for several hours at night. So that may have an messed things up.

and another result.

shift then e didn't work.

neither did moving the vc left most throttle handle with mouse. (AT/AP was off at the time).

Now I tried again. Still the same, but...

Moving the leftmost throttle on the 2D throttle panel does work. Quite well actually.

Still wondering why sift then e doesn't work.

The 2D panel would be good enough during taxiing. But in flight you need more speed when managing the thrust. You need "feel" and it has to be intuitive.

Yep, the autospoiler works fine in flight! Thinking about it makes sense...What activates the spoilers when landing with them "armed"? It's when the main mounts touch the runway, so sitting on the ground will not arm the spoilers. Can't answer any of the other commands.

Solved.

My mistake. I had been testing parked and with engines off.

I retested parked and with engines on. Now I see that "e then 1" (select engine 1)

works just fine.

The reason I missed it is that after "e then 1" the N1 (thrust) does increase on engine1 only, but the throttle levers still all move in unison.

So it's just not visually represented on the throttles, but the command works just fine.

"e then 1 then 4" works fine too, and selects just engine 1 and 4.

plane actually worked fine all the time,

thanks guys, my bad I guess,:)

You're right! This plane is so much fun it's hard to switch it off.

(Btw, tip, saving game doesn't work. FMC and panel are off after reload, so keeping it airborne takes some luck and quick thinking.)

Pause and then Pc sleep mode is an option of course.:D
