liner simpilot
Today I thought I would take a flight in a TWA Connie from PHX-LAX on an actual route. liner simpilot
Thanks to all the responding simmers. I saw the peer had put out a Connie screen shot his first time bac. So I thought I would dust off my TWA Connie & take a somewhat long flight. Never have I done that before. As for Rupert, I googled TWA routes (see image)and found this one, so I loaded up the passengers & took-off. Kenny
adamb
The TWA Connie was my very first plane ride in 1961. :) Fantastic shots Kenny! :) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
liner simpilot
Thanks Adam, that must have been a great plane to be a passenger in back then. I am glad it gave great memories. Kenny

Kenny Hey Kenny, My one Connie flight in the '60s was awful. It wasn't the plane's fault. They crammed in so many seats you'd think today's airliner seats were huge in comparison. Then they loaded a bunch of Marines and Sailors deploying to Vietnam up at Travis AFB and flew us non-stop on a from California to Honolulu! Complete with bag lunch meals.:eek: When I made the last leg into Da Nang in a C-130, despite the added noise, I thought it was luxurious in comparison! Being an old chopper guy I usually fly low and slow.
liner simpilot
Thanks Michael, for this great story about what you had to go thru. It must have been hard crammed in like sardines flying from California to Honolulu. It must have taken a long time crossing the Pacific Ocean comparison to today's standard.
