Thread: JSG Panel 787-9

  1. Default

    the gauges in the panel.cfg file all have an error.
    in file:
    Code:
    gauge01=glx787-MPanel!glx806-CAMainUp,0,0			JSGPanels
    should be:
    Code:
    gauge01=glx787-MPanel!glx806-CAMainUp,0,0			//JSGPanels
    // makes JSGPanels a comment.
    If no // it would get executed.

    ---
    That does not explain yet why the aircraft is not showing.

  2. Default

    according to the screenshot the panel folder name ends with S

    in the aircraft.cfg that S at the end is missing.

    that's why your plane won't show.

    Add the S in panel= line in the aircraft.cfg file
    (what mrzippy suggested works too)

    Good find! Now why is it in the README file without an S? And why did
    johankotze add an S to his folder name??????? Probably the developer who screwed up the folder name.

    copy the folder panel.JSG7879X06 in your own 787.
    This version is made for WINDOWS 7 so the panel is installed in the folder:
    C:/Program Files x86/Microsoft Games/Microsoft Flight Simulator X …….
    You then have to edit the aircraft.cfg to adapt to the panel: replace the existing
    lines panel=.... by the line panel=JSG7879X06, using a text editor, for example
    NOTEPAD.

    Thanks mrzippy and il88p the panel is now working and aircraft is showing. Must say I am not impressed. The heading, speed do not react when when I turn the knobs, I use FSUIPC.

    I select the JSG panel and testing.
    For the speed,select speed and push right of the numbers on XFR and you have two the same speed numbers,and then push the speed knob.
    For the heading the same procedure.

    Hope this help,i am going back to the Munro panel.

    Jan, yes I'm also going back to the Munro panel, I just miss one switch though and that is NAV/GPS switch as in the default 737-800 panel. Any suggestions

    Johan,

    The only text for NAV/GPS in the manual is :
    LNAV Button
    Engages or disengages navigation
    mode. When engaged the aircraft will
    fly along the flight path already
    entered in the flight plan. Note that
    this button also automatically connects
    or disconnects NAV1 to the GPS
    navigation

    In the default 747-400 is a Nav-Gps switch.
    it's gauge00

    Code:
    gauge00=Boeing747-400!Nav-GPS Switch, 212, 98
    Add that line to the bottom of your [Window00] section in the panel you are using to see it on the 2D panel.

    You will have to also change the number to th next consecutive number in that [Window00] section. So if the last gauge is
    gauge67
    add this one as
    gauge68

    You will also have to copy the file:
    Boeing747-400.cab
    to the panel folder you are working on.

    And then you will have to edit the coordinates of the gauge.
    in the line:
    gauge00=Boeing747-400!Nav-GPS Switch, 212, 98

    212 is the horizontal position. (212 out from the left edge.)
    and 98 is the vertical position (98 down from top of panel.)

    Just try it out in fsx first, and see how it looks.
    adjust the numbers, and reload the plane.
    then see again.
    (there is a keyboard shortcut for "aircraft reload"
    you have to assign that function to a key yourself.)

    If the switch is too big, add two numbers behind this, for the size:
    212,98,30,30
    for example.
    makes the switch 30 wide and 30 high.
