Building a flight sim room

Hello,

This is my first post so I'd like to start with a big hello!

Several years ago I purchased my Saitek yoke, throttle quadrant and pedals and Microsoft flight simulator software. I'm determined to start using everything so I've decided to go all out and design a room for it.

I have a room upstairs with a small attic area on the other side of the wall so I punched a hole in the wall and put a door and frame in it.

I've started to build out the attic area and will add air conditioning to it. I'm trying not to get too far ahead of myself because I want to measure twice and cut only once ( the carpenters rule) lol.

The area is about 8 feet long x 5 feet deep. I'm trying to figure how much are I would need to build a nice comfortable area for a cockpit, controls, monitors etc. I would like to have 2 seats with 4 or 5 monitors.

My questions are:

How much room will I need to build a nice cockpit?

Are there any online plans that show footprints for different types of cockpit builds.

Anyone built a cockpit into there upstairs loft?

Thanks for your help.

Brian

Brian, welcome to Flighsim.com...

Your question is rather specialized and it is likely you'll get more response from a dedicated forum for "Cockpit Builders" found here:

This forum is aimed for discussion of the art of aircraft modeling...
