FS2004 panel editing tutorial

Recommended Posts

I want to edit this panel & remove windows 30 & 36, so the views go from Main (8) to left (7), rear left (4), rear (2), rear right (6), right (9) with the main at 8 as usual, with the NumLock keys. I'm not sure what to change.....

I know the [Fixed Windows00] further down will have to be edited to reflect these changes.

Is there a tutorial available that will help me to this?

Thanks.

//Fixed Window30=FORWARD_LEFT

7=Fixed Window31=LEFT

4=Fixed Window32=REAR_LEFT

2=Fixed Window33=REAR

6=Fixed Window34=REAR_RIGHT

9=Fixed Window35=RIGHT

//Fixed Window36=FORWARD_RIGHT

Fixed Window37=Forward_Up

5=Fixed window38=down

[VIEWS]

VIEW_FORWARD_WINDOWS=0,10,20,

VIEW_FORWARD_DIR=3.000, 0.000, 0.000

VIEW_FORWARD_LEFT_WINDOWS=30

VIEW_LEFT_WINDOWS=31

VIEW_REAR_LEFT_WINDOWS=32

VIEW_REAR_WINDOWS=33

VIEW_REAR_RIGHT_WINDOWS=34

VIEW_RIGHT_WINDOWS=35

VIEW_FORWARD_RIGHT_WINDOWS=36

VIEW_FORWARD_UP_WINDOWS=37

VIEW_DOWN_WINDOWS=38

Hi,

In the Window00 sections, just reassign the BMP files to the desired key. For example, you want the left view assigned to the 7 key, which is (by default) the Forward Left direction. So in the [Fixed Window30] section change the bitmap from the current one to the one used for the Left view. Do that for all the desired changes.

Back up your cfg file first!

Hope this helps,

Tom Gibson

Hello. Thanks. As I hadn't had an answer in the past week I experimented & found what you say was the answer I wanted !

On a different topic: I want to add some icons to a panel. I see these numbers for a Pitot_switch, 968,699,13,64. Are they, 968 = right to left position, 999 = up or down location, 25,26 icon size ?

Many thanks.
