Textures/Sceneries completely missing and everything brown.

For some reason since I've downloaded the steam edition all the sceneries look like this with no detail, no water etc. I have tried adjusting the settings but to no avail. It has been like this since I first downloaded the game. I used the demo version prior to the full game and that was fine... sea and island textures in the Carribean were fine so am doubting my computer isn't under the required spec. Also I havn't added and addons.

Any help would be appreciated.

Did you uninstall the demo first?

Since you got Steam FSX and you said you didn't do anything else, you can...

Verify integrity of game cache

Load Steam.

1. From the Library section, right-click on the game and select Properties from the menu.

2. Select the Local files tab and click the Verify integrity of game cache... button.

Steam will verify the game's files - this process may take several minutes.

This should put it back to default. If that didn't fix it you could DELETE the game cache and Steam would re-download it with the same procedure.

I have a few Steam games and this always got them to work again.
