"texture" folder has 40 and not listed in aircraft.cfg. PhantomTweak Posted February 23, 2016 Share Posted February 23, 2016 What they did was use ONE folder to hold all the texture files that are common to ALL the planes. That way, rather than 49 .bmp's per folder, they have 9 per folder that are specific to that plane, and it references the main texture folder for all the rest. It saves a LOT of HD space. Many plane's devs are going to that method. Again, it saves a LOT of HD space. It also makes add-on paints for a plane much smaller, as long s they reference the texture folder properly, thus the DL zipfile is smaller, thus, faster to DL. Does all that make sense? If I download from another site I usually post problems on that site. We have no way of knowing your posting patterns. Plenty of people get addons elsewhere and come here for help. As an example, I searched at SOH for "Jahn C_117" and was presented with 240+ files to look through. If you could provide detailed info it makes it easier for us to help you. Many times the only way to figure out what is wrong is to download the files and look at them. Detailed file info makes it so much easier. I already have the C-117 Version 2 so I'll give it a try. Gerry, if I could, I would think it better to post in the FSX Forum instead of down here in the Designer's Forum. I finally found David Robles "Contraband" textures at AVSIM for the C47 v2 aircraft. Doesn't seem to have anything to do with the C-117. OK, my spinning head has finally put this all together.....I think! You tried the C-47 contraband texture on the C-117 and the aircraft showed as BLACK. Yep, wrong model. The texture folder for the C-47 will be way bigger in the number of files as opposed to the C-117. Still thinking about a new flightsim only computer! Already have a Manfred Jahn C47 folder but I think its a older version. Contraband Flyer has black props when running Ill download new base version and update.
