I am looking at either a i7 4790 or i7 5280 16gb 1600mhz memory and 4gb graphics card do you all think this is a good set up or over kill?

thanks Nick

There is no such thing as 'overkill' with P3D. You can always choose higher settings, put more addons in there, make it look better, until any PC slows to a crawl. You do not need 16gb now, 8 would suffice (4gb for P3D and the rest for Windows) but surplus RAM can always be turned into a RAMdrive if need be - and you might have other software, that can actually benefit from a lot of RAM.

Get the best stuff your money can buy. High CPU clock speed with overclock capabilities preferred, like the i7 4790K.
