the hard way

you will have to edit your aircraft.cfg file in aircraft folder.

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\SimObjects\Airplanes\your aircraft"

https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc526949.aspx

i have an old sample here, wich i think shows VC from center (like sitting on the pedestal...)

lines to edit

-"InitialXyz" view coordinates

-[CameraDefinition.xxx] xxx replaced with the value following the number of CameraDefinition lines in your file.

-Guid = {2C829FC5-1A34-40a4-0006-879C0D090D4A} any value that is not allready in the file.

You will have to reload you aircraft everytime you edit the file.

these are the lines:

//---------------------------------------------------------------------------

[CameraDefinition.xxx]

Title = "center view" //---------name it as you wish-------------

Guid = {2C829FC5-1A34-40a4-0006-879C0D090D4A} //---------line to edit-------------

Origin = Virtual Cockpit

MomentumEffect = YES

SnapPbhAdjust = Swivel

SnapPbhReturn = False

PanPbhAdjust = Swivel

PanPbhReturn = False

Track = None

ShowAxis = FALSE

AllowZoom = TRUE

InitialZoom = 0.6

SmoothZoomTime = 2.0

ZoomPanScalar = 1.0

ShowWeather = Yes

XyzAdjust = TRUE

ShowLensFlare=TRUE

Category = Cockpit

PitchPanRate=40

HeadingPanRate=50

InitialXyz=0.54,0.0,0.0 //---------line to edit-------------

InitialPbh=10, 0, 0

//---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Or easier, drag you seat view by using ctrl-shift-backspace-enter keys

to relocate the view you wish, but you will have to save that flight so the next time you load it you will have the same view. if you load a new flight the views will go back to default.

FSX ACCELERATION, ASUS P5QPL VM EPU-INTEL E8400-3GHZ-DDR2RAM4GO-WINDOWS7SP1 -GT220GEFORCE

if you never wonder about something, its because you know everything....:rolleyes: :rolleyes:

Easiest way is to make the 2nd eyepoint value positive (in aircraft.cfg).

For example (differs in every aircraft)

[Views]
eyepoint = 7.250, -1.600, 3.400

becomes

[Views]
eyepoint = 7.250, 1.600, 3.400

This has to be done for every aircraft, and some fine tuning can be necessary.

To test, assign a key combo to "Aircraft - Reload".

Hi, in the following thread, first half of post 5, I explain how to assign a key to an existing view point. In the example I assign a key for the copilot view in the 747.

After assigning a key in the aircraft.cfg file, you can then assign a key in fsx. I use f12 for copilot view, and shift-f12 for top-down.

Works better then moving the eyepoint. Moving eyepoint would move both views.
