Hello

I was reading and it said that FSUIPC works with FSX SE but when I install it, it just says this.

Looking in registry for FSX-SE install path:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator - Steam Edition\10.0

Parameter"SetupPath"

Not there, so looking in:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator - Steam Edition\10.0

Parameter"AppPath"

... NOT found! ...

And then it does not install into FSX SE. Can anyone help me ASAP?

Thanks

Chris

Do you have a side by side install of FSX:SE and FSX:MS?

Did you look in the FSX folder for a Modules folder and does it have any FSUIPC files in it?

Probably a short-sighted answer, but as you know what the FSUIPC installer is looking for, why not enter those values into the register ?

Question is, why didn't FSX-SE fill in those values in the first place ?

BTW. On my machine the registry entries (just for boxed FSX and FS9) are in HKEY_CURRENT_USER, not in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE. Not a single entry for "Microsoft Games" in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE.

I can think of a couple reasons not to hand edit the registry.

First and foremost, not everyone is comfortable working in the registry so advising them to do so is risky.

Secondly, if the OP has never had FSX Boxed installed on their PC those keys might not be there anyway.

I bet the OP is running a 32bit Windows and you are running a 64bit, Wim.

Your keys are in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\microsoft games\flight simulator\10.0

If not, then your FSX is not installed correctly.

Correct as always.

SetupPath key is in the location you pointed at.

AppPath key in the other location in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\etc...

Phew... my FSX is installed correctly .
