Hey Henry!

I should have offered a link to your KNLC development thread.

I'll bet there are many Naval Aviation aficiaonados here that would love your NAS Lemoore package.

:pilot: A good landing is one from which you can walk away...A GREAT landing is one after which you can use the aircraft again. :pilot:

Henry looks very real. I was there 1969-1971 VP-122 A7 to A7E. Give us a up date when it will be out.

Just a small historical note, may or may not be of interest...

The aircraft shelters in pictures #4 & #5 were first proposed (required, actually, as part of their contract) when they provided the Kfirs for VMFAT-401, in MCAS Yuma, as well as the maintenance supervision. After all, Israelis know desert conditions, after all. We had enough for all but 3 of our birds, one down at each end of our double row, and one bird in the Hangar for either maintenance, inspections, etc, or as a hangar queen. The planes were always parked facing inward (toword the other row, essentially), permitting not only pull-in/pull-out capability, but also permitting refueler trucks, O2 carts and so on to pull up close behind the planes. It also ensured that the fire-balls from wet starts (more common than one might think, with the good old J79 engines), and so on rolled on down the flight line away from the other planes.

Of course, it always seemed that any work that needed to be done was only on the two birds at the ends, without covers, out in the sun, thus making them burning hot in the Yuma sun. You could literally leave a layer or 3 of skin on a flat, upper surface, such as a wing or fuselage, without gloves on, a long time problem on the F-4's and A-4's in Yuma.

We also nearly lost one of our seat mechs, arming up the seat in one of them one morning after it had been in for inspections. If he had been under a cover he would have hit it. Hard. Probably would have killed him, rather than just royally messing him up. Ahhhh, the good old days...

Had a thought...then there was the smell of something burning, and sparks, and then a big fire, and then the lights went out! I guess I better not do that again!
