    Target applications other than FSX?
If Audio/Video work is in the mix it will be pretty good for that.

If FSX/General Gaming is the primary use of it, I don't recommend the X79 based computer.
I have one(see sig), and, if I had it to do over, I'd go Z77/i7-3770K.
Maybe Z87/i7-4770K, but the jury is still out on the OC capability of that.

The Z77 based PCs with an i7-3770K will perform the same, or better, for FSX, and can save money.
Put the savings toward better cooling, an SSD, better Video card, other enhancement, or, in the ol' wallet.

While the i7-3820 will overclock very, very, well, it is more difficult to accomplish than the i7-3770K.
16GB of RAM is overkill for FSX. 8GB is plenty, and, you can get a super fast, low latency, set for the same $$.

    Look at CyberPowerPC's Z77 systems.
i5-3570K/i7-3770K, Better cooling, 8GB Faster RAM, Name Brand PSU, GTX 660 Ti+, SSD primary(120GB+), etc.
You can put together a better FSX system for the same money, or, an equivalent for le$$...Don
    HAF 932 Adv, PC P&C 950w, ASUS R4E,i7-3820 5.0GHz(MCR320-XP 6 fans wet), GTX 970 FTW
