    Bunk! Misleading.
That is the version that works for me, but, there is no truly correct version to cover everyone.
That version still crashes on some folks' installations, and in that case, the 6.0.5840.16386 version usually works.

Some folks get UIAutomationCore.dll as the faulting module no matter which version is placed in the main FSX folder.
Their only recourse is, remove the file from the main FSX folder, take ownership of the System32, and SysWOW64, UIAutomationCore.dll, and temporarily rename them while running FSX.
The drawback to that is some other apps that rely on it will no longer function properly.

    Remove/Rename uiautomationcore.dll "known" app failures:
Intel Extreme Tuning Utility, Plan G.

Find the "Faulting module name:" before going on a wild goose chase...Don

There's a reason for that, FSX quite often loads both the 'ok' version and the system-wide win7 version:

I've never been able to fully track down WHY, but I suspect that part of FScopilot uses uiautomationcore, and since it's loaded by FSX, but not in the FSX folder tree itself, it ends up using the system wide version.

Sounds like you're having an issue unrelated to uiautomation core dll file. This fix is for a very well known yet specific fault caused by right clicking on menus. Just some food for thought, I had the recommended version installed which is 6.0.5840.16386. After my latest build using the exact same Windows version as my previous one, I found that the uiautomation core version I had been using no longer worked. I now have version 6.0.6001.18000 installed with no issues. Its important to note that this file must be placed within the FSX root folder not beside it. Also the original Dll file that Windows uses must not be deleted or moved either. Installing Fsx in its own partition is not the same as installing it on its own dedicated hard drive. Installing and actually purchasing the latest version of FSUIPC is highly recommended. I have FSX installed on its own dedicated SSD in its own folder and have employed Kosta's tweaks. I now have the most stable, problem free FSX instal I've ever experienced.

That does look interesting. I just tried it and I guess it changed something...I just have no idea what it was.

Has absolutely NO effect on W764 bit systems. It helps with memory issues only on 32bit windows.

OP - look for a freeware program called "whocrashed" and run it. It should give you info on the appcrash. You need to have memory dumps enabled so if it doesn't work then

right click My Computer - select properties - select advanced settings - select startup & recovery - settings - CHECK wite event to system log - UNCHECK restart system - be sure "complete memory dump" is selected.

Then next time your system crashes, run WhoCrashed to analyze the memory dump.

Just got another crash, this one less than a minute into the session. It seems as if REX Essential Plus is what caused this crash.

Faulting application name: ImageTool.exe, version: 10.0.61637.0, time stamp: 0x46fadabc
Faulting module name: nvd3dum.dll, version: 9.18.13.2018, time stamp: 0x518fe5d3
    Exception code: 0xc0000005
    Fault offset: 0x0066c52a
    Faulting process id: 0x1180
    Faulting application start time: 0x01ce62d1e9482aab
Faulting application path: C:\REX Essential Plus\ExeFiles\ImageTool.exe
    Faulting module path: C:\Windows\system32\nvd3dum.dll
    Report Id: 28037640-cec5-11e2-ade1-3085a98cdfd7

I will uninstall REX and run another test.

    Hello Ozzman and everyone.
I see many messages about the "MSFS crashes" and I found out that there are only two reasons that cause it to crash:
1-Hardware / firmware unstable, Overheat, Power supply, over clock, RAM in the wrong slot, GPU overheat, contention, Drivers, etc.
2-Add Ons, either the ones that I created, or from others that were not properly tested. Run a clean system.
I suggest you run your MoBos utility, or use some after market one, and monitor as much as you can, while you run stress tests, for your Video, CPU and I/O, there are many out there. Make sure if you have Sound and or Video on your MoBo, and you may have an external one, you are not enabling both. You can in some MoBos if they are properly set up, but the safest is to just enable one at the time until you get a stable system. TV

There is another cause of crashes in FS not discussed here which can crash any game. If you use a wireless connection to itunes app there is a startup that crashes games:
    APSDaemon.exe

After reading a lot of threads on other forums about the nvd3dum.dll crash, they all seem to go with the "Update your Video Card drivers" explanation. Have you tried that yet?
