Default No love for the Kiowa Warrior

How is it that its been around almost as long as the UH-1 and yet so few people know about it, even less promote it. Never you mind it's still in service today and has reached over 1 million combat flight hours. yet where are the flight models? I want my big ole M.M.S. What are your thoughts about the neglected workhorse of Army Aviation.

I guess there's the Area51 version. I see them them flying around here usually, but the 2-6 Cav is currently in Afghanistan so it's a bit quiet.

The Kiowa is in combat flight sims such as Armed Assault 2-

FSX/FS2004 is primarily a civilian flight sim.

I'm not sure I understand your rant & rave Area51Sim did a OH-58D Kiowa last year for FS9 & FSX.

But that does not stop people from creating hundreds of military aircraft...

If you don't mind a model that's not super detailed and is free for FS9 . There's this one I found in Hovercontrol.com for FS9. I just made a post on it on the screen shot forum here

A sample shot of the model below.

I can't figger out why there are warplanes in a soft civilian sim like FSX.
I've got combat sims which put you in a total combat environment with flak/ sams/ bombs, cannons, napalm, missiles, for example here's my Apache engaging Russian armour in Armed Assault 2-

Many people like to just fly the military aircraft, and aren't interested so much in the killing side of things. Plus, how many military sims let you fly anywhere in the world you want?

Indeed. There has yet to be a true combat simulator that will let you fly anywhere in the world. That's part of the reason why MSFS still gets the military aircraft. It gives you the freedom of flying anywhere in the world.

Until the other true combat sims get that through their confined world, there will always be MSFS. Plus we don't have to worry about getting shot up in the air if all we want is to fly around.

Some folks might consider an accusim'ed Spitfire an ideal FSX aircraft. Don't drop by S-O-H unless you like or at least tolerate military aircraft.
