Survived almost unharmed to a first terrorist islamic attack the 26th of February 1993 (a bomb exploded in the underground car parking below WTC1), the whole complex was destroyed during a second attack on 11th of September 2001. At 8:45AM (EST), an American Airlines Boeing 767-200 smashed against WTC1, a second 767-200 (this time a United Airlines one) crashed against WTC2 at 9:03AM. The heat produced by the combustion of the jet fuel melted the structure of both buildings. WTC2 collapsed at 9:59AM followed by the other tower at 10:28AM. WTC3 was buried under the rubble of the second collapse. The other buildings were severely damaged and later demolished.

Once the rubble was cleaned, an enormous hole took the place of the former complex, the so called Ground 0. At the moment a general reconstruction of the area is in progress and the 11th of September of each year a Memorial is lit in order to commemorate the over 3 thousands casualties.

    How did you do it?

Where did you get a landable pad for the tower?

And the towers where you get them?

Great Shots, a lot of memories of that day, difficult to watch, but if we don’t recall and relive the bad, tragic memories, and learn from them. History will repeat itself…

    Tastefully Done…

    David…

I remember listening to the transcripts of the flight crew of NYPD, discussing among them selves if they should land on the tower an attempt a rescue. There was nothing they could do but watch what was happening…If they could have they would have gone in and tried to land…Heat and smoke prevented any attempt…
