Thread: B52 Exterior Walk Around

    Default B52 Exterior Walk Around

Here are some shots I made while doing a pilot's pre-flight exterior walk around of the new Captain Sim B-52 exterior model showing the level of visual detail - pretty cool stuff. Right now the release is just the exterior model - uses the default 747 cockpit and sounds - the last shot gives some idea of what the VC will look like when the full release comes out

Nose area - pitot tubes clear - no "Remove Before Flight " streamers

Forward main gear - tire pressure and tread looks good

Inboard engines - inlet covers removed and inlets clear - fan blades look good

Engine nacelles - all panels secure and no leaks. You can see the crew entry steps that we'll use to get back in the cockpit extended under the forward fuselage

Flaps - fully extended and no asymmetry (determined by looking at the outboard flaps off the picture to the right)- no dents or holes

Tail cone - all panels in place and secure

Bomb Bay - clear, no ordnance loaded

Back in the Cockpit - "OK, let's have the before start checklist"

Simon: These airplanes are certainly old enough to be in museums but are still front line airplanes today - amazing really when you think about it

Jan; you're welcome! How do you like Fabio's L-188 Buffalo paint?

Excellent shots Bill. The detail is astounding.
The pilot is bound only by his mind and his machine. We must expand the mind before we expand the machine, and by expanding the mind, we may expand the machine. Our mind is being expanded by the sim. It is not a game.
