    Hi Mike,

    Its quite simple ! Save a copy of your Panel.cfg somewhere (just in case) then open it in Notepad and look for the references to the GNS430. For example:

    [Window00]
    ...
    ...
    gauge05=RealityXP_FL430XP!GNS430, 1007,443,253,105

    Edit this and replace with the reference to the new WAAS version:

    gauge05=rxpGNS!GNS430, 1007,443,253,105

    Note that its just the gauge name that changes, the position and size numbers remain the same.

    Repeat for all other instances you see

    RealityXP_FL430XP!GNS430

    Its also a good idea to replace the references to the GMA340 and GTX327

    I.e.

    RealityXP_FL430XP!GMA340 becomes rxpGNS!GMA340 and
    RealityXP_FL430XP!GTX327 becomes rxpGNS!GTX327

    When you've replaced all references to these three gauges, save the Panel.cfg and check it out in FS2004 !

    Hey Alastair,

    I cannot thank you enough for your reply. Last (hopefully) question: I'm running this in FSX, will the above solution work in that as well? I have read other tutorials on how to do this and fooled around with the Dakota and the 430W and was not able to get it to work, so I'm doing a clean install of both now and I'm going to try what you suggest above. I had forgotten that I posted here and just stumbled on your response. I'm dying to fly the Dakota again, hoping this will work!

    Hi Mike,

    I'm still using FS2004 so have no direct knowledge of FSX, but there have been many reports of problems with the FSX version of the Dakota. As Dreamfleet is in any meaningful sense a "retired" company you will have to use the "suck it and see" approach. Hopefully you will be lucky !

    I'm using FS2004 but on Windows 7, where do you get this different GPS? I'd like to try and see if I can get this plane working again. I loved it, it worked fine on my old machine running windows vista.

    Hi,

    If you're referring to the newer GNS units from RealityXP, they can be purchased here:

    http://www.reality-xp.com/flightsim/index.html

    Make sure that you select the ones for MSFS rather than XPlane.

    WOW, that's crazy, a $50 gauge just to get a $34 plane working again...maybe? Seems a bit steep for me.
