    Default Aircraft Conversions from FS5, FS5.1, FSW95, FS98 and FS2000

Does anyone know if it is possible to convert Aircraft from earlier Flight Sim versions. Obviously, with the conversion tools, FS5 aircraft could be converted to FS98.

I had a good collection of B.E.A. propellor aircraft which I'd love to use again on the better FS2002 platform. Your help would be appreciated!

    ...

FS98 and certainly FS2000 aircraft will usually work ok in FS2002

Check out http://www.simviation.com for these :)

FS2002 comes with the converter, I think...:-)

    Hi all,
I have used planes from FS5 available here on Filghtsim.
I used the "converter" found in FS2000. This adds the panel sound, etc folders.
I don't remember the exact name of the converter, but I think it was AAFconv.exe ???

Anyway I used it to convert the Space Shuttle on the back of a 747. It looked dated with the square looking front view of the shuttle. But at some angles, it looked OK. I used it in FS2002 by the way.
So I guess you can convert them. There is a "retro" Learjet here in the files, but it is already converted.

Take care, and see you later my friend.

Slightly OT but you have probably noticed that there are some nice early jets for 2k2 about and I believe David Maltby or someone in the same circle is producing a VERY nice looking Viscount which I have seen a screenie in Red Square livery....looks lush and I am hoping for an early release..

BTW< Do you know if anyone is producing period scenery for Heathrow, with the possibility of period AI to have a slice of the 1950s/60s is interesting...have to turn the colour off on the monitor and fly in black-and-white!!!

    Food for thought innit?

    Hi Lord_Jagged

Thanks for the info. BTW, if you fancy checking out a few oldies, check out http:/members.aol.com/pionair/index_1.htm - that's where I found my old birds in the first place!

You'll find a plethora of historical facts about Heathrow - indeed the airline I work for had to disable this web site from our pc's 'cos so much work time was being spent on it!

Unfortunately, the site hasn't been updated for a while (I hope nothing's happened to the webmaster) - hence my desire to convert the aircraft to FS2002!

    Cheers

    Thanks Everybody for Helping!!!
