Thread: Adding my music to FSX

Question Adding my music to FSX

Hello, I don't use FSX a lot, but is there any way to add your own music to FSX? The default music is a little bit boring.

    Thanks!

you mean the music for the start-up screen?

then choose your song (.mp3, .wma, etc) and convert it into a .wav file (use a sound editor such as Audacity)

then move the newly created file to "Sound/UIMusic" folder into your FSX installation

finally, start FSX and go into "sound" options and change the music choice to your new song

    hope this helps

Yes actually, you can switch out one or more of the 8 default music selections by BACKING UP THE MUSIC FILES, then exchanging them for another .wav file with the same name. You can simply rename a file "FSX08.wav", and replace the original FSX music 8. The files are located at:
    C:\Program Files(x86)\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\sound\UIMusic or
    C:\Program Files(x86)\steam\steamapps\common\FSX\sound\UIMusic or
    C:\Program Files(x86)\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D\sound\UIMusic

Do you really think he is waiting for a reply, after 10 and 1/2 years?

And BTW: what real pilot listens to music when he's flying anyway?

    You might be surprised.

That might just explain the: "Aircraft departed controlled flight and impacted ground at high speed." statements in accident reports.

Or the inevitable `failed to correctly plan flight` conclusion to an expected 10-year flight plan!
