    Default Basic Basic

I have a 3.5 inch Floppy Drive in the front of my (2004) DELL 8300. I have never used it. I would like to remove it from the case so as to let additional AIR to be drawn into the front of the case for better cooling.

Can I just unplug the Power and the Data cables from the drive and remove the drive from the case without causing any trouble for the system. Is there anything else I might have to Dis-Able....like drivers or something? SPOFF

SPOFF, as long as you have the system turned off when you do what you describe, that's all that needs to be done.

Thanks Myocardia. Just unplug and remove. NO other stuff to do. I think I may do that. Today I removed a "Blank" cover from the front of the case imediately below the floppy drive and have seen a 5.0C degree drop in my CPU "Exhaust Air" temp. My PSU "Exhaust Air" temp is down as well. Still monitoring. SPOFF
