Thumbs up New Horizon VFR Generation X (Ver2.0): England & Wales

I have just seen their announcement and had a look at the screenshots. Jeez!!! That looks absolutely unbelievably good!
Has anybody already seen these and if so, what is the opinion.

Also, would this work together with UTX Europe (which of course includes England and Wales)? Is that a matter of placing the VFR GenX Vs 2.0 higher up in the cfg?

    Thanks

    Theo

I think they look great. i'm getting this one and the new VFR airfields that goes with it.
Wouldn't it be lovely to have a job that you enjoy so much, that when you get home from work you run computer simulations of it?

  3. Default vfr scenery

    Hi,

can someone explain if I can still have Autogen scenery with this VRF scenery.
Or is there some compromise, perhaps with a tool, that allows me to keep the trees etc. As much as I like this photoreal scenery for a low level pilot (1500-5000 feet) I feel I'll lose a lot of the realism without the lumps and bumps.
Also does this vfr scenery have it's own mesh?

    Thanks,

    Ted.

    Hi Folks

Underlying landclass autogen will not show up on photoscenery.

Photoscenery needs to have autogen specifically added to it.
ATM it's only available in a Horizon demo area.

However 3rd party autogen and scenery objects
    are available for many areas.

    To confirm,
it has an excellent 5m mesh.

  6. Smile VFR scenery

    Hi,

does everyone feel that loosing the autogen, effectively moving from a 3d into a 2d world will be an improvement. I'm trying to convince myself that the extra detail is worth loosing that level of realism.
What happens when you drop to 1500-500 feet. Perhaps people can post some screenies from this altitude once the software is released.

    Thanks,

    Ted.

I feel that a counter argument might be - what could be more realistic than the 'real' world. If you are flying over places you know well...?

Just a thought. The autogen, whilst pretty good, isn't actually real is it?

  8. Default vfr

    I think what will persuade me is if someone can post screenies of the following;

    White cliffs of Dover.
    Isle of White.
    Snowdonia.

Presumably with this Scenery London will be completely flat?

Can I add to this - can someone post a screenie of the west country, severn bridge, Bristol area etc?
