I would check to see what is in your C:\gmax\gamepacks\fs2004 gamepack folders,
especially check your C:\gmax\gamepacks\fs2004\plugins folder for the following
    files:

    FSModelExp.dle
MAKEMDL.CFG - may not have this but it can be made with Notepad.
    makemdl.exe
    makemdl.parts.xml

If the makemdl.parts.xml file is missing, either uninstall/reinstall the
FS2004_GMAX_SDK.exe or install the FS2004_MAKEMDL_SDK.exe, copy the
makemdl.parts.xml from its folder and place in the
    C:\gmax\gamepacks\fs2004\plugins folder.

If you are making scenery objects with the FS2004 Exporter, you don't need to
change/add the coordinates for the exported files. The scenery object is
universal throughout the flightsim world. You place the correct coordinates in
the associated *.xml file that is generated with the *.mdl file.

In other words, if you make a generic terminal, you can use the same library
object over and over again. If you want an example of this style programming,
download jetway2.zip, read the How to... readme file on Scenery Objects and
Library Objects. Also you need to download the FS2004_BGLCOMP_SDK.exe for more
    information on XML programming.

    Hi,
I am trying to export a scene made with gmax to FS9.
When doing a File Export, I get a message that "makemdl.parts.exe" is missing.
I get an XML file and an MDL file as well. During the export Makemdl.exe says
at some point that it makes the bgl file... but it is nowhere to be found.

Furthermore, I never get a chance to change the coordinates within Makemdl.exe
because it terminates automaticaly after writing the XML file.

    Any help would be appreciated!

    Thanks!

    Hi!

Thanks for your help. Now I have the missing files properly set and I get the
.XML and .MDL files without any error message.

What is left for me now to understand is how to transform those files into a
.BGL file that FS9 can use to display as scenery.

I tried to download jetway2.zip, but neither flightsim.com nor avsim.com has
    it.

I feel I am so close to success but I am fogged in without IFR capability ;-)

If you could help me some more, I would greatly apreciate it.

    Thanks again for your help.

    Hello Jacques,

Sorry, I left off an "s", it is jetways2.zip. You need to visit, download, and
    install the FS2004_BGLCOMP_SDK.exe from
    http://www.microsoft.com/games/flightsimulator/ , downloads, FS2004SDK. You
also need to have MSXML4.0 installed, which you can get from Microsoft or
http://www.airportforwindows.com/ . If you do go to Airport for Windows site,
you might be interested in SceneGenX.

BGLCOMP.exe is a compiler that will compile the *.XML and *.MDL into a *.BGL.

    Hi Bill!

Allright! It works perfectly. I finaly placed a building of my making into the
    FS9 world :-)

I can't thank you enough for your help. It opens up a lot of possibilities for
