As we begin to bring products into FSX we have some decisions to make as to the order of releases. So this simple poll might help us. Indeed the Dakota will be first for FSX, but after that I have to decide which of these two should follow. Archer III or Beech A36.

Anything we bring into FSX will be fully SP2 / DX10 compatible. These will not be FS9 models brought into FSX.

This poll is non-binding and as such the results may or may not be followed by DF, but we would still like your input. Thanks. :)

Regards,

Lou Betti

Hi Lou,

As always... ANYTHING Dreamfleet puts out will be of top quality and will have an honored place in my hanger. I guess if I HAD to place an order it would be the A36 over the Archer III. Once again... Thank you and your team for always doing top quality work on everything!

I would do the one that is simplest in terms of coding and features first. I'm guessing this is the Archer. It's my understanding the FSX SDK is not unreasonably far off from the FS9 SDK, which means getting up to snuff on the new stuff isn't that hard. But, FSX is still relatively new and I would want to face the easier problems first. My .02

Can't you do all of them first? I'd quite like to see the 737-400 again...

Actually it's a bit disingenuous of me to comment - I've never used FSX, and at the moment I can't even run Windows let alone FS9....

:) :) :)

(Don't mind me, it's 2:30am and I'm waiting for my Windows PC to labouriously finish its in-depth RAM analysis so I can go to bed...)

I am a bit irritated that I downloaded and attempted to install the Archer thinking that it was, like the Dakota emblazoned just above it on the website, already FSX capable. Alas, I paid for it and cannot install it. Ergo, I shall vote for the Archer out of self-interest in hope that I may eventually benefit from my purchase.

As an aside, it would be beneficial to all were the current Archer to carry a label indicating that it is not yet ready for FSX -- as it is now, that admonition is mentioned almost as an aside in a paragraph of text on the detail pages.

I think that you might want to check your sources. According to the purchase website located here:

http://dreamfleet2000.com/Previews/181/purchase_181.html

I have extracted this quote:

"The Archer III is for FS2004 (FS9), Windows XP and Windows Vista 32* only. It will not operate in FSX. A version of the Archer III for FSX is planned for release at a later date."

What is important is in bold. I really hate when people judge you and they are wrong, for something so obvious.

I clearly stated above that this was the case, only that the text to which you refer was not a part of the main highlight on the home page which is the source from which I made the purchase.

I am critical of the way the aircraft was advertised; immediately under the advert for the new Dakota, touted for FSX. That is what I judge, not anyone in particular. If you are associated with Dream Fleet's website, you should be making a change so that such errors are avoided. If you are not associated with the Dream Fleet website, I don't think you have much room to rate me on my post.

Albert, I think you are being really harsh and immature.

Basically, you made a complete mistake. The Archer is clearly marked as a FS9 product. It's proximity to the advert for the Dakota is irrelevent. You made the mistake and as I see it, you have absolutely no comeback or reason to in anyway blame or criticize Dreamfleet.

Stand up to your mistake and stop blaming everyone else.

If you bother to read my post, I have certainly accepted the fact that I made an error -- a "complete mistake," as you so curiously phrase it (as though there were any other kind). That has never been at issue.

I also stated, quite plainly I thought, that my dudgeon is over the lack of any such annotation on the main featured advert, the one just under the new Dakota. It seems to me that the Archer should have been clearly and obviously labeled as being solely for FS9/2004 -- and not dependent upon a line buried in the text of a subsequent page.

Dream Fleet is a commercial operation, and, as such, should be held accountable for the clarity and accuracy of its advertising, just as any other commercial enterprise should be. I see nothing "immature" about admonishing the publishers of the website to clearly and accurately mark their products.

Further, it would seem your definition of "harsh" is other worldly. Nothing in my post could conceivably be considered as anything other than an honest criticism, as it was intended to be.

I guess I am going to be harsh and very critical! This post was started in 2007 asking what plane we wanted to go to FSX first! Here it is 2009 and NO plane is available for FSX yet, furthermore Microsoft has dropped FS11 and all Dreamfleet seems to be producing is FS9 stuff! I think they are very far behind the curve. Most people that enjoy Flightsim are using FSX with all its wonderful add-ons minus the Dreamfleet planes we use to enjoy. I guess its time to move on without them!

.. it's the end of 09, and still no sign in the horizon ... what a shame :( ....

FS2004 this should be archived at the Smithsonian Museum .... and with no offense and all the respect FS9 is part of history too ..... technology is moving us forward not backward

And even so...what do we get...eyecandy! When a flight sim comes along which actually improves performance over just adding more candy...THEN, I'll consider it (and FSX ain't it!). Until then, you can have my FS9 when you can pry it from my cold, dead fingers!
