Default Using FS ATC voices to create customised STARS and SIDS

LAST EDITED ON Feb-18-02 AT 11:58AM (EDT)[p]I live in London, UK. I am lucky enough to see through my own bedroom window the holding traffic for two major VORs (LAM and BIG). On a clear day, especially at dusk I can see planes entering the hold, leaving the hold, and intercepting the Westerly runways (the turn prior to intercepting 27L/27R at Heathrow usually takes place over my house :P )

After years of watching these planes naturally I am a bit upset at MS's implementation of "vectoring for approach". So here's an idea: How about using the standard FS ATC sounds to create customised STARS. It's a great idea and I hope I'm not misunderstanding the workings of FS2002 but it has the potential to add way more realism.

    Comments (Good or bad) appreciated.

Unfortunately, FS ATC will ignore any entered waypoint within 50 miles of your destination, so STARS are not possible...

ah, but there is something within the ATC vectoring engine which coordinates the movement of aircraft in the air all the way to touchdown, therefore we do not rely on fixes anyway, rather we use the vectoring engine itself. If the pattern of traffic is determined by the traffic within the locality of the airport then surely we can create pseudo aircraft and position them in such a way so as to give us the desired approach pattern.
